Mr. Emala serves as General Counsel of Bluerock Acquisition Corp. He has served as General Counsel of Bluerock Capital Markets and Bluerock Asset Management since May 2018, and as Secretary of Bluerock Total Income+ Real Estate Fund since that time.
In addition, Mr. Emala has served as Secretary of Bluerock High Income Institutional Credit Fund since 2022, and as Secretary of Bluerock Industrial Growth REIT, Inc. and its external manager, Bluerock Industrial Manager, LLC, and as Chief Legal Officer of Bluerock Industrial Manager, LLC, since 2021.
Prior to joining Bluerock in May 2018, Mr. Emala held senior legal positions at a number of sponsors and broker-dealers in the alternative investment space, including Cantor Fitzgerald from June 2016 to May 2018. Prior to these roles, Mr. Emala was an associate at international law firms White & Case LLP and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. Mr. Emala earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park, a J.D., with honors, from the George Washington University Law School, and an LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center.
